Warranty Terms

Many technology items carry a manufacturer’s or end user warranty. Any assistance obtained from CompuSave Computers Inc. to process a warranty claim (RMA) may incur technical support fees. Wherever possible we will assist you by providing contact information for the manufacturer.

DESKTOP COMPUTERS & NOTEBOOKS

PRE-BUILT OR BRANDED COMPUTERS:

Note: This Warranty Policy applies to computers purchased in-store only. All products purchased online are only covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and clients must deal directly with the manufacturer for any claims. Exceptions made be made within the first 14 days if the unit is tested to be DOA. CompuSave will provide contact information where needed.

If your receipt shows a “manufacturer’s warranty supported by CompuSave”, this means that the unit is covered by a warranty from the manufacturer. In the event of a warranty claim, the following protocols will be followed:

At any time our clients are free to contact the manufacturer directly to obtain warranty support according to the manufacturer’s policies. Whenever reasonably possible, a copy of your receipt will be provided.

    • Within 30 days of purchase
      • What is covered:
        • Diagnostic fee to determine the problem.
        • Contact the manufacturer to process the repair/replacement.
        • Shipping costs to and from manufacturer.
        • Any data backup and restore that is required will be completed at no charge.
        • Any software installed at the time of original purchase will be re-installed as needed.

 

    • 31 – 90 days after purchase
      • What is covered:
        • Diagnostic fee to determine the problem.
        • Contact the manufacturer to process the repair/replacement.
        • One way shipping fee.
      • Chargeable fees:
        • Data backup and restore that may be required.
        • Return shipping.
        • Software installation required after the repair.

 

    • 91 days or longer
      • What is covered:
        • Diagnostic fee to determine the problem.
      • Chargeable fees:
        • Time taken to contact the manufacturer to process the repair/replacement.
        • Shipping fees both ways.
        • Data backup and restore that may be required.
        • Software installation required after the repair.

 

Warranty claims are valid only if a part fails due to a manufacturing defect. Warranty does not cover any software conflicts, virus or malware infections, or failure caused by abuse, misuse, power surges or electrical spikes.

Any corruptions in software due to improper use, failed updates, viruses or malware are not covered by the warranty.

You are responsible for keeping your data secure by maintaining regular backups to a secondary location and ensuring your system is protected by a suitable antivirus and anti-malware product. CompuSave Computers Inc. and the manufacturer(s) will not assume any responsibility of damage or loss due to your data being affected by a failing part or user error.

Should there be a hard drive failure, the operating system will be reinstalled to the original configuration at the time of purchase, before your data and software was introduced to the system. You will be responsible for installing your software and restoring data from backups. Should you require our assistance for data transfer or software installation, charges will apply.

COMPUSAVE BUILD COMPUTERS

The unit is covered by a CompuSave warranty. All repair and parts replacement will be completed at our location. No on-site warranty (at your location) is implied.

Note: Should you choose to ship your computer instead of bringing it back to our location, you will be responsible for properly packaging the unit in order to prevent shipping damage. CompuSave is able to provide you with a shipping label and arrange pickup, but the shipping cost is not covered and will be billed to the client.

    • Within 90 days of purchase
      • What is covered:
      • Diagnostic fee to determine the problem.
      • Time spent to perform the repair or install replacement parts.
      • Any standard data backup and restore that is required will be completed at no charge. Does not imply 3rd party recovery of data from failing hard drives.
      • Operating System re-installation if required for repair.
      • Any software installed at the time of original purchase will be re-installed as needed.

 

  • Remainder of warranty period
    • What is covered:
    • Diagnostic fee to determine the problem.
    • Time spent to perform the repair or install replacement parts.
    • Operating System re-installation if required for repair.
    • Chargeable fees:
    • Data backup and restore that may be required.
    • Software installation required after the repair.

CompuSave warrants the product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 or 2 Years as reflected on your original invoice. If the product fails during normal and proper use within the warranty period, CompuSave will repair or replace the product or components at our discretion. The replaced product or components will be under warranty for the remainder of the original product warranty, or for at least 90 days.

Parts & labour will be covered as stated above, depending on the original purchase date. Any failure caused by the following will not be covered by warranty: improper use, abuse, physical damage, un-authorized changes made to the unit that have not been completed by CompuSave, power surges or electrical spikes.

Warranty Exclusions

CompuSave Computers Inc. does not warrant this product against interruptions in work or productivity. Warranty will not apply or no longer be valid under the following conditions:

  1. The product has been altered by un-authorized changes to the original hardware configuration.
  2. Damage is caused by a natural disaster, misuse, abuse or neglect, improper maintenance or abnormal conditions.
  3. Damage found to the unit caused by drops, spills, fire or power surges.
  4. Loss of programs or data, or the costs of data recovery.
  5. Configuration of third party software or hardware, including networking.

TABLETS & CELL PHONES

Note: This Warranty Policy applies to tablets & cell phones purchased in-store only. All products purchased online are only covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and clients must deal directly with the manufacturer for any claims. Exceptions made be made within the first 14 days if the unit is tested to be DOA. CompuSave will provide contact information where needed.

  • Within 7 days of purchase
    • If you experience a problem within 7 days of purchase, CompuSave will assess the situation and either contact the manufacturer on your behalf or offer repair or replacement of the unit at our discretion. Shipping charges may apply.
  • 8 days or longer
    • If your receipt shows a manufacturer’s warranty or end user warranty – we will provide you with contact information for the manufacturer in order to obtain warranty repair/replacement
    • Should CompuSave need to spend time to diagnose a problem or back up data, technical support fees will apply.
    • Some tablets and cell phones carry a CompuSave Warranty. This means that we will take care of repair or replacement at our discretion during the complete warranty period.

Physical damage, including scratches, cracked screens and broken charge ports may not be covered by warranty. 3rd party applications installed to the device after purchase are not supported as a part of the product warranty.

CompuSave Computers Inc. and the manufacturer of your product will never be held responsible for data loss due to a device failure or improper use. Ensure that you keep important data backed up at all times.

PRE-OWNED PRODUCTS

Any products sold as pre-owned will have a warranty period ranging from 30 days to 6 months. The warranty period will be clearly stated on your original invoice.

This warranty is supported directly by CompuSave Computers Inc.

All repair and parts replacement will be completed at our location. No on-site warranty (at your location) is implied.

INK & TONER

ORIGINALS

  • Approval for the return of a defective original (OEM) cartridge may take 1 – 2 business days to process. In some cases the manufacturer will need to be contacted directly by the client. CompuSave will provide contact information wherever possible.

 

COMPATIBLE OR REMANUFACTURED

  • All CompuSave branded compatible toners are guaranteed by CompuSave. Should you have any problems or concerns, we will provide you with either a replacement product or a full refund for the purchase amount.

 

LG MONITORS

Most LG monitors carry a 3 year warranty from LG – CompuSave Computers Inc. will assist in processing a warranty claim if needed.

OFFICE PRODUCTS

Most office products are guaranteed directly through CompuSave. If you have a problem with an item, please contact us for your warranty options.

WARRANTY DEFINITIONS

IN-STORE OR COMPUSAVE WARRANTY

If a product is listed as having an in-store warranty or a CompuSave warranty, this means that you should contact us directly if you have a problem with the product. The product manufacturer will most likely not support this product directly with you. These products will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of our technicians.

END USER OR MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

All products that have an end user or manufacturer’s warranty are supported directly by the manufacturer. This means that it is your responsibility to contact the manufacturer to obtain any support, repair or replacement according to their policies. Many manufacturer’s feel that they can best support your product directly as they have the expertise relating to the product functions and operation.
